Licenses
The source code in TSK are distributed under several licenses. Each source code file identifies the license that applies to its contents.
Refer to the licenses/README.md file in the source code for an overview, but the basic gist is that:
- The core code is distributed under either
the IBM Public License (from The Coroner's Toolkit) or the Common Public License (a more generic form of the IBM Public License).
- Other utilitiles have their own licenses, but they are not GPL / copyleft.
- TSK distributes a striped down copy of GNU binutils strings, which has a GPL 2 license. This is standalone and not part of the library.
